Air Fryer Pork Shoulder Steak
Pork steak in an air fryer is tender, juicy, and easy to prepare. Nothing beats mixing up a simple dry rub of spices and getting the main dish of your meal ready in less than 30 minutes.
This delicious cut is from the pork shoulder and may be bone-in and boneless. It is sliced off the pork shoulder or otherwise known as the Boston butt, the cut commonly associated with pulled pork.

Ingredients
- Pork steaks
- Parmesan cheese
- Brown sugar
- Smoked paprika: Can substitute regular paprika.
- Cumin
- Onion powder
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder
- Italian seasoning: Can substitute oregano.
- Salt
- Ground black pepper

How to cook pork shoulder blade steak in the air fryer
Use a paper towel to gently pat pork steaks dry. This will help the olive oil adhere to the meat, creating a strong bond with the spices.
As you prepare the pork, preheat it to 400 degrees F. Follow the preheating directions for your specific air fryer.

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and blend well. Stir completely, making sure no chunks are present.
Using a basting brush, generously coat each pork steak with olive oil.

Thoroughly coat each pork steak with the seasoning blend, ensuring all sides are evenly covered. Flip steak and cover the other side.
Place seasoned pork steaks in air fryer in a single layer. Make sure they do not touch.

Air fry the pork shoulder steaks for 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees F. Halfway through the cooking process, flip the steaks.
The internal temperature of the thickest portion of the pork steaks needs to reach 145 degrees F. Cook longer is necessary to reach this internal temperature and golden brown coloring.

Remove from air fryer and allow a 3 minute rest to ensure maximum juiciness and deliciousness.

Cook pork steaks in the air fryer for 8 to 10 minutes at 400°F, flipping them halfway through. Check the internal temperature with a digital meat thermometer to ensure it reaches 145°F.
If your pork steak is bone-in, test the cooked meat temperature away from the bone. Instead, find the thickest portion of the steak and probe that area to receive an accurate reading.

- 4 pork steaks 1” thick
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F.
- Use a paper towel to pat pork steaks dry.
