Ingredients
- Bone-in pork chops: You can use boneless chops. Make sure to use less cooking time and remember that they may be drier in texture. For the most tender results use bone-in chops.
- Olive oil
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Cream of chicken soup
- Beef broth
- Mushrooms: Use 1 1/2 cups of fresh sliced mushrooms in place of canned mushrooms.
- Onion
- Spices: salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder

How to make Cream of Mushroom Pork Chops
Preheat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Combine salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder in a small dish. Sprinkle this spice mixture over all sides of the bone-in pork chops.
Sear each side of the chops for 3 to 4 minutes. This process will create a flavorful crust to seal in juices while the pork finishes cooking in the crock pot. Remove chops and set aside.

Add mushrooms and onion to the skillet and sauté for 3 minutes or until onions become translucent and fragrant. Remove from skillet.

Pour cans of cream soups and beef broth into the skillet, creating a gravy. Whisk to gather dripping left from searing of chops. Gather 1/2 cup of gravy and pour into the bottom of the crock pot.
Place a layer of pork chops over the bottom gravy and top with an additional gravy layer. Next, spread approximately half of the mushrooms and onions on the chops.
Repeat the layering process of gravy, chops, mushrooms, onions, and finish by pouring the rest of the soup gravy on top.

Cover crock pot with the lid and cook on low heat for 5-6 hours or high for 2 1/2-3 hours. Time will vary depending on the thickness of the pork chops.

When testing the temperature of a bone-in pork chop, place the thermometer probe in the meat, not touching the bone. Bone-in chops will be ready once an internal temperature of 145 degrees F is met.
As you serve the delicious pork chops, don’t forget to set aside a scoop of that flavorful sauce from the crock pot to drizzle over the whole plate.
Can I use boneless pork chops?
This recipe calls for bone-in pork chops. The bone helps retain moisture within the meat as it cooks. It maintains the juiciness of the pork and avoids the common issue of overcooking or making the chop dry. The searing method used in the recipe adds a rich depth of flavor.
Boneless pork chops are better suited for a recipe with a shorter cooking time.
How do I store the leftovers?
USDA recommends using cooked pork within three to four days. These bone-in pork chops may be refrigerated in an air-tight container for that amount of time and reheated.
To reheat, place in the microwave in 15-second intervals until meat is to desired warmth.
