This easy ground pork recipe is perfect for enjoying your favorite fried cuisine without all the work. The combination of tasty ground pork cabbage, carrots, and crunch blends perfectly as it rests on top of a bed of rice.

Ingredients and Substitutions

- Ground pork
- Shredded cabbage: Use whatever your grocery store has. They are all delicious.
- Carrots: Shredded
- Soy sauce
- Green onion
- Garlic
- Sesame oil
- Spices: Chinese 5 Spice, salt, ginger
- Garnishes if desired: cilantro, sesame seeds, sriracha
How to make an egg roll in a bowl
Step 1: Heat two teaspoons of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the ground pork in the skillet, seasoning with Chinese 5-spice and salt as it cooks.


Step 2: Stir in garlic, green onion whites, ginger, carrots, and cabbage. Continue combining the ingredients and gently stirring them in the heated skillet for approximately five minutes.
Step 3: Drizzle soy sauce and the remaining sesame oil over the top of the skillet. Incorporate sauce and oil by stirring for an additional minute.

Step 4: Serve over steamed or fried rice with flavorful garnishes of cilantro, sesame seeds for texture, and the green onions’ chopped greens. An easy side item to complete this meal is premade crab rangoon and sweet and sour dipping sauce.

Egg Roll in a Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 1 teaspoon Chinese 5 Spice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 green onions whites and greens separated
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger grated
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 large carrots shredded
- 14 ounce package coleslaw mix (5 cups) shredded cabbage
- 3 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 teaspoons sesame oil divided
- Cilantro for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Heat 2 teaspoons of sesame oil in a large skillet.
- Brown ground pork in the skillet, add in Chinese 5 spice and salt as the meat cooks.
- Stir in garlic, whites of the green onions, ginger, shredded carrots and shredded cabbage.
- Cook the ingredient mixture for five minutes stirring gently.
- Drizzle soy sauce and the remaining sesame oil over the top of skillet. Cook for an additional minute.
- Serve with rice and garnishes such as cilantro, sesame seeds and the chopped greens of the green onions.
