How do I make Maple Breakfast Sausage?
Step 1: Place the ground pork into a large bowl.
Step 2: Sprinkle all the seasonings over the ground pork. Then, add small waffle pieces, about the size of a nickel, into the seasoned pork and mix well.

Step 3: In a separate small bowl, combine the maple flavoring and maple syrup. Stir to combine, then pour the mixture over the bowl of ground pork.
Step 4: Using a fork, lightly mix the pork, seasonings, and maple mixture until evenly combined. Be careful not to over-mix the meat to keep the patties tender.
Step 5: With clean hands, shape the pork mixture into 8 to 10 patties. For best texture, handle the meat gently.

Step 6: Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the number of patties you want to cook and reduce the heat to medium. Brown the patties on the first side before flipping. Cook until the patties are no longer pink in the center and have reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.

Can I make the patties ahead of time and freeze them?
Yes, if you plan to make these pork sausage patties to use at a later time they can easily be frozen. Place a piece of wax paper between each patty and add them into a freezer bag.
Frozen patties may be kept frozen for up to 6 months before cooking.
How long do cooked sausages last in the fridge?
Refrigerated cooked sausages can be stored in an airtight container at 40 degrees F or below for up to 4 days. After that, the risk of foodborne illness increases.
Can I cook breakfast sausage in the air fryer?
To cook Maple Breakfast Sausage in the air fryer, place a single layer of patties in the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes. Or until the internal temperature is 160 degrees F. Frozen patties may take longer, adjust time as necessary.
