When your ground pork is cooked, go ahead and sprinkle in that taco seasoning, mixing it in really well. Instead of following the packet’s directions for the taco seasoning, let the chicken broth be the required liquid.

Add two cans of diced tomatoes with chilies, including the juice from the cans. Slowly pour in chicken broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
Place a lid on the soup and lower the heat to medium, allowing it to simmer for 10 minutes. This enables the taco spices to meld with the ground pork.

Remove the lid and stir in drained and rinsed black beans. Simmer on low for an additional 15 minutes.
After the soup simmers, ladle it into bowls and pile on your favorite toppings. This customization step lets everyone create their own unique bowl, bursting with flavor in every spoonful.

Storing taco soup
Leftovers of this easy 5-ingredient Pork Taco Soup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. Allow soup to cool before placing the lid on the container.
Chicken bouillon in place of chicken broth
This shelf-stable option is handy when making a quick soup. Our recipe calls for 32 oz of chicken broth, which converts to 4 cups of water and 4 teaspoons of granulated chicken boullion. Make sure to read the label instructions for proper preparation.
By definition, “bouillon” is the French word for broth. Chicken broth is a liquid, while manufacturers sell chicken bouillon in a dehydrated powder or cube form.
